Don't Miss It!

As a BYU / Mountain West Conference fan in New York City, I have struggled during the past 6 years to consistently watch BYU in action thanks to the MWC television contracts and the mtn (and yes, it deserves to be written in lower-case letters because you can barely see it).  As an alternative, I have become best friends with Greg Wrubell (BYU Football and Basketball radio announcer) while scanning the ESPN.com Gamecast.  So you can imagine that when I have a chance to actually watch a BYU game because it's on national television, you know I'll be watching.

Now that BYU has ascended to a projected #1 seed in both the ESPN and SI.com tournament brackets, March Madness will become a must-watch TV event in our home as well as many of your homes as well.  As an aside, my two-year old turned to me earlier tonight as we were watching the SportsCenter anchors discuss the new projected NCAA tournament brackets and said, "Dada, I na watch BYU! I na watch BYU!".  I hear ya, girl.

For years, CBS has been the sole broadcast channel for the March Madness NCAA tournament.  However, it has still been frustrating at times because in 2007, for example, Syracuse was playing their first-round tournament game at the exact same time that BYU was playing Xavier, so our New York region broke away from the BYU game after only 10 minutes, and I was forced to watch the rest of BYU's close loss to the Musketeers on my 12 inch computer screen.  The internet feed, even in 2007, was pretty archaic and I ended up seeing the word "Buffering..." more than the actual score of the game.  However, just in time for BYU's projected deep run through this year's NCAA tournament, CBS has partnered with Turner Sports in a multi-billion dollar deal in order to give fans everywhere the opportunity to serve as their own TV Guide during March Madness because all of the tournament games will be available live in their entirety across four national networks: CBS, TBS, TNT, and truTV (formerly CourtTV).

Jimmer is excited that no one will be forced
to miss his team's run through the tourney.
In all, CBS will broadcast 26 games throughout the tournament, TBS will broadcast 16 games, truTV will televise 13 games, and TNT will broadcast 12 games.  With BYU projected to head to the West bracket, it is most likely that the first and second-round games will be on either TBS, TNT or truTV.  You can read more about the programming details here, but one thing is certain - you better make sure you get truTV because I, for one, know what it's like when it's possible that BYU may have to play on a channel with a name in lower-case letters!  I just checked - whew!  I have truTV, so sorry, Greg, I'm going to be able to actually watch the Cougars in the NCAA tournament this year, but I promise I'll listen to the post-game show...

2011 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Kerry Washington always glow on the red carpet and this time is no exception.

The actress looks great in her sparkling Escada striped beaded dress.

Smooth bangs and flawless make-up completed her look.

Gabrielle Union looks sensational in her eggplant draped plunged neck delicate dress.

She completed her look with soft side curls, silver earrings and a black clutch.

Selita Ebanks looks delightful in her romantic red and nude ruffled Valentino dress.

She completed her look with a side swept up-do. Her nude Brian Atwood heels were a little too heavy for such a delicate dress.

Zoe Saldana always have to go against the grain. The actress rocked a red and pink chiffon pleated Prabal Gurung open back dress. I never thought these colors would look good together but they actually do.

I am not crazy about her black belt. It just felt so out of place. I am also concern about her asymmetrical skirt because it looks a little messy.

She completed her look with a soft up-do and pink satin Salvatore Ferragamo heels.

My favorite couple Forest and Keisha Whitaker graced the red carpet.

Keisha looks heavenly in her white adorned with lace caplet dress.

Joy Bryant finally decided to dress up for a change. She looks just okay in her liquid sequin dress.

I am not a fan of her grandma braids. She is way too fabulous for this.

When I first view these pictures, I thought it was so sweet of Selena Gomez to bring her little nephew to the Oscars but then I realize it's actually Justin Bieber! I am sorry but she looks like his aunt instead of his girlfriend.

Anyway, they do look cute together.

Selena looks great in her red goddess Dolce & Gabbana dress paired with a red sparkly Judith Leiber clutch.

Gwyneth Paltrow lit up the red carpet in her shimmering crystal beaded Michael Kors one-shoulder dress.

She completed her look with sleek hair and a gold Jimmy Choo clutch.

Jessica Biel looks incredible in her metallic beaded Atelier Versace beaded dress. I adore the double straps and the draping details.

She completed her look with sleek pulled back hair and beautiful gold earrings.

I miss Charlize Theron on the red carpet. The actress looks wonderful as always in her white embellished one-shoulder Atelier Versace draped dress.

She completed her look with shiny hair and a black Roger Vivier clutch.

Eva Mendes looks cute and flirty in her black sequined and tulle Donna Karan paired with black peep-toe heels.

Madonna and her daughter Lourdes both walked the red carpet.

Madonna of course is dressed inappropriate for her age but she looks fabulous for fifty so who cares?

Unlike her mother, Lourdes looks age appropriate in her printed All Saints dress paired with black heels.

2011 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Camila Alves is just too beautiful for words. She looks gorgeous in this black nude underlay Zuhair Murad embroidered dress.

Her sleek hair and neutral make-up completed her look.

Kate Beckinsale is sparkling in her back sequined sheer Julien Macdonald panel sleeves dress.

I adore her wispy up-do.

Lea Michele also sparkled in her navy sequined Roberto Cavalli open-back dress. I felt the dress was a little heavy and mature for such a young girl.

She must had listen to Kelly Osbourne on "Fashion Police" about her ridiculous posing on the red carpet because this time she was a little subdued on the carpet.

Rosario Dawson was part of the sparkle trend in her royal blue shimmering Diane von Furstenberg wrap belted dress.

I am not a fan of her messy up-do. It kind of look like a mop on top of her head!

Serena Williams made her rounds last night. She wore a tangerine strapless mermaid dress with a open back detail.

The bodice is a little bit ill fitting but she made up for it with her "assets"!

I am still on the fence with her bangs. It's just not sleek enough for me.

Marisa Tomei changed into a beautiful fuchsia one-shouldered sculptural dress.

Emma Stone rocked a whimsical plum sequined Chanel Couture paillette dress adorned with a train.

She completed her look with awful hair and plum Ferragamo heels.

Taylor Swift wore her standard uniform, a sparkle Zuhair Murad mini dress paired with gold peep- toe Jimmy Choo heels.

I don't blame her because this silhouette looks great on her.

Ginnifer Goodwin looks divine in her red and black lace embroidered Erdem dress but that damn hair is driving me crazy!

Why would you want your hair to look like a topay?

Elton John AIDS Foundation's Oscar Viewing Party

Heidi Klum looks amazing in this silver mirrored high-split Julien MacDonald dress.

At first, I thought her crystal earrings were a little too much paired with the dress but it' s Oscar night so why not go all the way.

She completed her look with sparkly Christian Louboutin heels.

Nicole Richie gave me fever in this hot white cut-out Halston thigh-high split dress.

She completed her sexy look with sleek side banks, black clutch and silver open toe Christian Loboutin heels.

Garcelle Beauvais certainly redeemed herself from my WDD list in this beautiful red strapless draped dress.

I loooove her funky curly afro!

Odette Yustman looks absolutely gorgeous in this red cut-out Monique Lhuillier chiffon dress.

I adore her sleek hair and subtle make-up.

Kim Kardashian showed off her delicious curves in her draped peplum J. Mendel gazaar organza dress.

The bodice is a little fussy but she still looks beautiful.

Serena Williams looks fantastic in her black sheer overlay tiered strapless dress.

It was almost a flawless look minus her over-done eye make-up!

Ashley Tisdale looks sensational in her gold antique lace Jenny Packham dress. I am living for her asymmetrical neckline and her embellished belt.

She completed her look with a sleek ponytail and a pop of red lips.

Emma Roberts also opted for a sensational Jenny Packham dress. She looks wonderful in this charcoal sequined chiffon dress.

The sexy plunged neck bodice is simply exquisite.

She completed her look with a modern up-do, a metallic clutch and Neil Lane jewelry.

Rashida Jones looks divine in this romantic blush ruffled Valentino dress.

I am loooving this look especially with her simple pulled back hair and ruby lips.

Anika Noni Rose looks wonderful in her peach ruffled one-shouldered dress but her yellow "Big Bird" shawl is driving me crazy!

She completed her look with soft curls and peach lips.

Kelly Osbourne looks beyond beautiful in her silver cap sleeve Tony Ward Couture dress.

Her silver ribbon belt is too sweet for words.

I am totally on the fence about Hayden Panettiere white draped embellished Luca Luca dress.

One minute, I think its sexy as hell, the next moment, I think it looks like a toga!

Will someone please wake me up! Holly Robinson is boring me to tears in this non-descriptive draped dress.

Seriously, don't come to a Oscars viewing party if you can't make an effort!

Believe it or not this is actually a good look for Chaka Khan . It's part witch and part Stevie Nicks.

Chaka rocked her trademark curly wild hair.

Florence Welch redeemed herself from that dreadful Valentino dress she wore on the red carpet to this enchanting nude floral applique Valentino dress.

It's like a beautiful summer's garden.
